A hidden gem, The Cowdray Walled Garden is a country garden venue nestled in the grounds of one of England’s finest former country houses. Set against the stunning backdrop of Cowdray Ruins in Midhurst, West Sussex, the Walled Garden sits at the heart of the 16,000-acre Cowdray Estate.

A peaceful place to gather for celebrations of life, The Walled Garden is a quiet, tranquil space to say farewell to your loved ones in the most respectful way. With a central location, two light airy rooms and a picturesque walled garden, it is a versatile space for a funeral reception. Offering plenty of indoor and outdoor space for wakes and family gatherings, we can accommodate up to 130 guests standing, or 100 guests seated. The venue also offers an abundance of free parking for all attendees.

Booked on an exclusive use basis, The Walled Garden offers complete privacy for you and your guests. With so much to organise following the loss of a loved one, the bespoke Events team at Cowdray, alongside our carefully chosen partners and suppliers, and our in-house caterers, The Yellow Kitchen, are on hand to help plan the event. Be it a small buffet or a sit-down meal, our Events team are on hand to create a bespoke menu to suit all tastes and budgets. We also have a selection of trusted and local florists to recommend if needed.
