The Barns at Hunsbury Hill, on the outskirts of Northampton, make a beautiful setting for wakes and funeral receptions. The rural Grade II listed farm complex, sitting in 13 acres of land, from English styled gardens to dense wooded areas, is built in the ‘Hanoverian’ tradition of a central courtyard and buildings around it. It is a rare and unique example of a model farm that dates back to 1776.

This former working farm has been sympathetically converted to modern use while still retaining its tranquil rustic charm. With stunning views over South Northamptonshire you can easily believe you are in the country yet we are only two miles from Junction 15 of the M1 and The Counties Crematorium at Milton Malsor. It truly is a hidden gem.

Arranging a funeral reception or wake can be a stressful time. At The Barns we aim to take the worry out of arranging the catering for you and your loved ones by working closely with you to ensure all your requirements are met.

Our In-house caterers can offer menus to suit all budgets and specific needs, so whether you are looking for a traditional Buffet, a more informal Afternoon Tea or even a BBQ, every funeral reception is individual and can be tailored to your preference. We cater for all dietary requirements from vegetarian to gluten free, just ask us for details.

We know this can be a difficult time for you and we aim to make this process as simple as possible. The Barns at Hunsbury Hill are available exclusively to you and your guests for the duration of your event.

The High Barn can accommodate from 40 to 90 guests for your funeral reception and is accessible for anyone with mobility impairment.

Our fully licensed bar is included in the venue hire charge and we are happy for you to play your own background music. There is also free on-site parking for up to 50 cars.

The Barns are owned by a charity, Northamptonshire ACRE, that works with rural communities across the county. It’s a nice thought that when you book with us, you are helping the charity to support local communities.
