Marking the life of a loved one is an emotional event, but it can also be an uplifting one. At Hodroyd Hall we offer classic English country house style, allowing your celebration of life service and or funeral tea to be a wonderful goodbye.

You will have exclusive use of the hall allowing friends and family privacy for their own reflections and memories. We will work with you to make this a fond farewell and a fitting tribute to the one you have lost.

Hodroyd Hall is a beautiful, grade II listed private country house in the peaceful hamlet of Felkirk, less than 20 minutes from Crematoria in Wakefield, Pontefract and Barnsley.

The earliest reference to Hodroyd is in 1144 and the Hall is steeped in history. It has been used as a fort, a monastic building, as the ancient seat of the Viscounts of Galway as well as offices for the National Coal Board.

Today, it is once again a family home and offers a unique combination of country house tradition with the informality of family life, the ideal place to mark the loss of your loved one. Our main reception spaces are the Orangery and the Gargrave Room.

· The hall is available on a half day hire basis Monday-Friday including use of the kitchen, Orangery, Gargrave Room and Library.
· Hire includes use of 60 chairs, tables, and tablecloths.
· Parking for 50 cars (contact us if further parking is required).
· Our maximum capacity is 120 guests for funeral tea buffet with seating for 80. Our maximum capacity for celebration of life services is 80.
· Hire per half day for 60 guests is £450 inc VAT, excluding food or beverages. For larger parties, please contact us.
· We can obtain a bar licence if required, subject to council approval.
