Many people request to have their ashes scattered in a location that holds some special meaning to them. This includes being scattered at sea and is particularly popular for people who have a fondness of the sea or have a nautical background.

For many families this is a beautiful way to say a final farewell to their loved one in a peaceful & memorable setting. City Cruises have been a popular choice for people to conduct a Scattering of Ashes ceremony on our Island Scene and our Captain and crew are there to ensure your wishes are met and the ceremony is held in a respectful and meaningful way.

The Island Scene can accommodate up to 100 people for a Scattering of Ashes ceremony and we are pleased to offer a special 1 hour Scattering of Ashes Package @ £400.00 for hire of the boat. You will sail around the beautiful islands of Poole Harbour and our skipper will stop wherever you would like to scatter the ashes.

Should you wish to offer catering on board we have a selection of catering options from a finger buffet to an afternoon tea and we can extend the time you would like to use the boat for an additional cost.

We do have larger boats that can accommodate up to 120 people and all of our fleet have licensed bars on site.

Another option we have is that after the scattering of ashes, you can use Hennings Events for the wake. Located on Poole Harbour, this land based venue can cater up to 150 people for a private wake. Once again, the venue has a licensed bar and catering can also be provided for you.
